Master river hydraulics and morphodynamics with our Delft3D FM – River Modeling course. Delft3D FM, the next-generation simulation software for hydrodynamic and morphodynamic modeling, is the successor to Delft3D 4 and SOBEK. This course will teach you how to evaluate and forecast river behavior under normal, extreme, and exceptional conditions. With a focus on 2D river hydraulics and sediment transport, you’ll develop the skills needed to tackle consulting projects and enhance your modeling capabilities. What You’ll Learn This course combines theory, practical exercises, and advanced visualization techniques. You will: • Set up and run 2D hydrodynamic models using D-Flow FM. • Explore river morphodynamics and sediment transport modeling. • Apply 1D-2D and 2D-3D modeling concepts for accurate river simulations. • Use Python scripting and Real-Time Control to automate workflows. • Visualize results using Delft3D FM GUI, QUICKPLOT, and QGIS. You’ll create your own hydrodynamic and morphodynamic models, gaining hands-on experience you can apply directly to future projects. Who Should Attend? This course is intended for: • Project engineers, researchers, and project leaders experienced in river hydraulics and modeling. Whether you are new to Delft3D FM or looking to deepen your expertise, this course equips you to model river dynamics and sediment transport effectively. Course Format and Dates This online course features self-paced learning and instructor-led sessions to provide flexibility with expert guidance. Online sessions: • Session 1: Tuesday, April 15, 2024 – 9AM PT / 12PM ET to 1PM PT / 4PM ET • Session 2: Thursday, April 17, 2024 – 9AM PT / 12PM ET to 1PM PT / 4PM ET To ensure personalized support, the course is limited to 9 participants per trainer, providing ample time for Q&A.
